Now that the Lunar New Year 2021 has officially begun, more developers are revealing their Year of the Ox themed contents. Yesterday, Facepunch Studios officially launched a brand new update for Rust, bring some new cosmetic items to the game. Compared to other multiplayer experiences, the Rust Lunar Year 2021 update doesn’t seem to have rich content, but it has some unique items that might be tempting.
Throughout the Lunar New Year, everyone in Rust will be able to craft some in-game throw-able firecrackers. The most notable addition of the new update is a Metal Ox Mask with jiggling tassles. The item will be available for purchase in the game’s store. Other than that, there will be some other items for sale in the store from the same event in the previous years. Aside from the cosmetic items, the developer also offers a 33% discount for those who haven’t purchased the game yet. You can grab Rust for $26.79 until February 15 through Steam. Not to mention that the game is also available on PS4 and Xbox One as well.
Rust is a sandbox survival game where you need to build yourself a new home and figure out how to craft different things that will have an important role in extending your life in the world of the game, where there are other players as well. It’s your decision on how to set up your relationship with the other players. You can be friendly or hostile toward other residents of the island, but keep in mind that you are responsible for the outcomes.
Rust already had a strong community among the survival games, but the recent focus of some popular streamers like Shroud on the game, make it even a more popular choice among the players.
