Developer Psyonix has revealed that Rocket League’s third Rocket Pass will be revving up on April 17. The season mode will include tons of new items for players to unlock and new, weekly challenges to complete.

Rocket Pass 3 has both a free and premium version, as is the norm for these battle pass-like systems. Players can earn items with either version of the pass; however, if you want to unlock all the rewards, you’ll have to grab the premium pass for $9.99.

As you level up through the tiers, you’ll unlock up to 70 unique items. These range from new wheels to XP boosts to the new Guardian Battle-Car.

The big feature of this third iteration on the Rocket Pass is the addition of challenges. These weekly in-game challenges are taking a page out of Fortnite’s book, giving players a way to tier up even quicker by finishing them.

The provided examples of what the challenges look like seem pretty standard for Rocket League. Things like “Get 5 Saves, Assists, or Goals in Casual Mode” or “Play an Online Match with the Guardian Battle-Car” seem right in line with what you’d expect.

Free players get three weekly challenges to complete, while premium players get three extra. Challenges can only be completed during the week they’re offered. You will not be able to go back and complete a past week’s challenge. So, if you’re planning to get in, it’s smart to do so early.

Rocket League’s Rocket Pass 3 launches on April 17th on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Check out the trailer below.
