Retro Shooter Dusk Sells Almost 70,000 Copies in its First Month

There’s no doubt that we live in a time where high-end graphics are the norm for most games. With Red Dead Redemption 2’s beautiful sweeping landscapes and Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s gorgeous visuals designed to take a player’s breath away. However, there’s one game that’s bold enough to go against the graphical grain. That game is Dusk, and the recently released figures show that there is certainly a market for this approach.

Released last month, Dusk is a 1990s inspired first-person shooter from New Blood Interactive. The game features deliberately chunky polygons to recreate the style of classics such as Quake. From here, Dusk plunges the player into non-stop action as they take on waves of deranged cultists.

The CEO of New Blood Interactive, Dave Oshry took to Twitter recently to announce that the game has sold an impressive 69, 420 copies since it launched on December 10, 2019. Although he stated that he was going to wait until 10,000 sales mark before saying anything, it appears that the excitement had gotten the better of him.

The fast-paced, non-nonsense shooter is available now on PC. Ladden with gore and violence, Dusk is not for the faint of heart. Those who don’t game on PC will be happy to know that they too can look forward to the retro-inspired title as it’s currently scheduled to land on consoles in the near future.
