Today Geronimo Interactive, the developer behind the VR game Pixel Gear, and publisher Winking Entertainment announced a brand new game coming to the PlayStation VR titled Reborn: A Samurai Awakens.

In this VR-only game, players will take the role of the legendary real-life samurai Yukimara Sananda, reborn in the year 2480 to fight against extraterrestrial life forms. To help you on your journey, you will be able to wield a variety of different weapons, including laser katana, pistols, and psychic powers. During the onslaught from the aliens, should the player counter at the right time, Hack Time will be engaged, which slows down time allowing for more precise attacks. You’ll also do double damage during Hack Time.

Because Reborn: A Samurai Awakens includes support for the PlayStation Move, the game will allow for a variety of play styles, as you’ll be able to dual-wield weapons. This means you’ll be able to use two blades, one blade and one pistol, one pistol and one power, or a number of different combinations.

To celebrate the announcement of the game, Geronimo Interactive also released the first trailer for the title, as well as an image of one of the many bosses you will fight in the game. You can check them both out at the end of the article.

Reborn: A Samurai Awakens is set to arrive some time later this year, however an exact release date was not revealed.
