Razer Delists Gears Tactics, PUBG, Sea of Thieves, and The Sims 4 from Xbox One Mouse and Keyboard Support Page

Yesterday, we reported that hardware company Razer had recently listed 9 new titles that would supposedly soon be receiving mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One platform on its website. The only questionable part of this story was that it wasn’t backed up by a formal announcement from Microsoft and the team at Xbox, which seemed somewhat odd considering the rather large nature of the news.

Jump forward to today, and many of those previous additions to Razer’s keyboard and mouse support page on the company’s website have now been removed. Specifically, Gears TacticsPlayerUnknown’s BattlegroundsSea of Thieves, and The Sims 4 are the four games in question that no longer appear on the webpage. Gears 5Minecraft, and others, however, are still present on the site.

So now the question we’re left with is this: did Razer list these now-deleted games by accident in the first place or did they just happen to prematurely announce a more formal reveal that Microsoft was planning? If I had to guess, it would likely be the latter option. All of those games that have now been deleted from the page made sense to receive the support in the first place. What didn’t make sense though was that no developers or publishers of said games made any extensive announcements to reveal those details as well.

It’s also worth noting that Gears Tactics specifically hasn’t even been confirmed to come to Xbox One just yet. Its listing on the page originally didn’t just seem to ratify that it would get keyboard and mouse support alone, but also that it would be arriving on Xbox One in the first place, despite being previously announced as PC-only.

We’ll likely learn more about what’s going on with this whole strange situation as time goes on. I’d expect that Microsoft and its development partners will likely say more about whether or not these games will be getting mouse and keyboard support down the road. And if they don’t, then I guess Razer just really screwed up here.
