Rainbow Six Siege Operation: Burnt Horizon Operators Fully Revealed

News, Operation Burnt Horizon, Originals, PC, PS4, Rainbow Six: Siege, Ubisoft, Xbox One

After the All-Star Game at the 2019 Six Invitational, we saw the first bit of gameplay from the upcoming Operators from Rainbow Six Siege‘s Year 4 Season 1 update, Operation: Burnt Horizon.

First is Gridlock, an attack Operator with Trax Stingers, a gadget that allows her to throw down an ever-growing mat of spikes across any given room or hall of a map. What makes Gridlock, as well as her partner Mozzie, so interesting is how these gadgets deviate from Operator norms. The Trax Stingers are more akin to something a Defender would use as they slow enemies, do some damage, and allow you to control the map. It’s similar to putting down barbed wire to seal off certain areas.

Next, we have the aforementioned Mozzie, a defense Operator who uses Pests to capture and control enemy drones. Yes, this means a defender can use drones to their advantage. Similar to Mute’s Signal Disrupter, before putting down one of these Pests, a ring will appear indicating the range it can capture a drone from. After you do capture it, it is Mozzie’s to use. However, if you decide to take the drone outside, both you and its original owner lose the drone.

Operation: Burnt Horizon will also include the Outback map which was teased earlier in the week. The red sand in contrast with the map’s bright blue sky alone makes it one of the prettier maps in Rainbow Six Siege. If you want to see just what we think of the new map, as well as the new Operators, you can check out our preview.
