Hot off the heels of announcing plans for E3 just a few weeks back, Bethesda has detailed its plans for QuakeCon 2019 which is set to take place in July.

QuakeCon this year is set to focus mostly on DOOM, which this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Bethesda has previously referred to 2019 as “The Year of DOOM” and this same tagline is what is being used to promote QuakeCon this summer.

In addition to just being a general celebration of all things DOOM, Bethesda has said that it will also be showing more of DOOM Eternal, the upcoming game in the franchise, at QuakeCon. The convention will also feature the typical slew of panels, hands-on demos with upcoming Bethesda games, and more.

I’m still holding out hope that both DOOM Eternal’s showing at E3 combined with this one at QuakeCon means that the game will be coming out in 2019. As of now, Bethesda has yet to reveal a release date for the new id Software shooter but considering this is “The Year of DOOM“, you’d have to think that the best way to end cap this year would be to release a new installment, Hopefully, that’s exactly what happens.

If you’re looking to attend QuakeCon for yourself in July, the event is set to take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, Texas from July 25-28. Tickets and registration will also be going live next week on April 11, so keep an eye out.
