Fortnite is due to receive an update at some point in the near future, and thanks to Design Lead, Eric Williamson, we’re getting a look into what changes will be arriving in the 6.31 patch.

The Tweet that was published by Eric details that Fortnite will be getting a pump shotgun rebalance to improve the effectiveness of the weapon. Damage will now be increased in close quarters combat, but range will also be reduced slightly. Additionally, all types of shotguns will have a minimum of three pellets, even if the player only gets a one or two hit.

Furthermore, there are some adjustments being made to the mounted turrets that players can set up around the map. Mounted turrets will overheat a bit faster and will also have a reduced headshot multiplier.  These will be applied through a hotfix, and the 6.31 patch will adjust the collision volume to make it easier to hit players from the front of the mounted turret by.

The comments on the turret focused Tweet seem to be mainly expressing how much players don’t want the mounted turret in the game, whereas comments on the shotgun Tweet seem to be asking for the double pump shotgun.

Fortnite recently announced a $1,000,000 Winter Royale Tournament that’s available to everyone. The game’s developer, Epic Games has also been getting some attention from Donald Faison and 2 Milly in regards to their dance moves being used as emotes within the game.

Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
