Welcome to leak season! With the PS5 and Xbox Series X upon us, both delays and leaks will be rounding the corner until E3 2020. Today specifically, a supposed internal leaker has revealed some brand new gameplay footage of the first-confirmed PS5 exclusive, Godfall. While this is reportedly old footage of the game, we are happy to see any amount of new information in what we will be playing next gen.
The leak comes from the dedicated PS4 community on Reddit, where Reddit user ‘YeaQuarterDongIng’ posted a snippet of Godfall gameplay from an “unreleased trailer.” The clip, which is only six seconds long, is definietley shy of a full reveal of the gameplay — but what we do see is immediately exciting:
Seen in the footage below, we start getting a taste of both the graphical power of the upcoming PS5 with incredible effects and particle physics. More importantly, the combat looks like a mix between a Dark Souls and Devil May Cry — slightly tactical with a bit of flash.
If the leaker is to be believed, this is far from final footage — in fact, it is more than a year old. Replying to another person asking if this footage is ripped from an upcoming trailer, the leaker replied that the trailer is “from early 2019” and is something that’s been used internally. In short, this is the game without the polish, but also likely ‘a vertical slice.’

And while rumors and leaks are typically taken with a grain of salt at DualShockers, this one seems a tad more verifable because of the video below. Checking with the Godfall reveal trailer line up too well to be a fake.
We are in full swing with PS5 fever, as critics pick apart leaks and rumors to try and piece together the launch lineup. If rumors are true, we should be expecting more PS5 announcements at a hopeful reveal event in February — a substitute conference as Sony continues to back away from E3.
As mentioned above, Godfall is in development and planning to launch on PC and PS5 around 2020. As more information becomes available, we will keep you updated.
