Recently, the official Twitter account of the upcoming open-world JRPG Metal Max Xeno has been releasing new images and information.

The screenshots and info were shared by Producer Juntaro Kouno. First of all, we get a special illustration by Character Designer Oda Non, featuring the game’s heroine Toni. The drawing was made for a recent event hosted by Kadokawa Games in Tokyo to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary.

We also see the initial screen of “The Last Monster Hunter,” which is the first quest received after arriving at Iron Base. It will prompt the player to search surrounding refugee camps while driving the familiar tank “R Wolf.”

We also get to see two wanted monsters that we’ll have to hunt in the game. The first is a giant mecha rhino named “Cruising Saigon.” It’s a monster from the time of the great calamity that destroyed humanity, and it doesn’t appear to be affiliated with the SoNs. It’s equipped with a huge missile launcher.

The second is the Super-heavy Destroyer Tank. It comes equipped with massive firepower, and it’s so big that it will fill the whole screen. Once defeated, it will be available as a playable tank.

We also get to see a familiar landmark. The game is set around the Tokyo Bay turned into a desert after an AI-driven apocalypse, so it’s only natural to find recognizable buildings. One of those is the Tokyo Big Sight event venue (where Comiket is hosted twice a year), which in the game is simply named “Big Atrium.”

You can enjoy all out in the gallery below. If you want to see more, you can check out the first trailer and screenshots, and a second batch featuring more characters, and the third, also showing members of the cast. A brand new trailer was also recently released.

Metal Max Xeno will launch in Japan exclusively for PS4 and PS Vita on April 19th. No western release has been announced for the moment.
