Microsoft is expanding the availability of its Project xCloud streaming service around the world as we get closer to the release date of Xbox Series X. According to Microsoft, they will launch the service in 11 Western European countries whenever they see a fit to do so, regarding the current situation with COVID-19 pandemic.

Project xCloud is a streaming platform allowing you to play all the games from your library wherever you want through your smartphone. Currently, the service supports over 50 games and is available only in several countries, but the list of regions supported by xCloud is going to grow. Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden are the new countries that will gain access to Project xCloud in the near future.

While no official release date has been announced so far, if you want to take part in the preview of the service, you’d better sign up now. The upcoming preview will allow you to have a taste of xCloud through your Android device.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears 5, Devil May Cry 5, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and Destiny 2 are some of the games that will be playable during the test. If you are interested in partaking in the preview, make sure to check out the requirements of xCloud which includes an Xbox Controller, a tablet or smartphone powered by Android 6.0 or higher, and a stable connection with at least 10Mbps download rate.

While Project xCloud is growing gradually, Google is working more on Stadia to tweak its game library and bring first-party titles, after experiencing a disappointing launch last year. On the other hand, Amazon is investing a lot of money in the industry to develop more titles and launch its own streaming platform for playing games. Recently, it was reported that Amazon’s Project Tempo is pushed back to release in 2021 due to the worldwide disruption by COVID-19.
