Previously Unreleased Two Tribes Title Swap This! Finally Seeing Release on Switch Next Month

News, Originals, Swap This!, Switch, Trailers, two tribes

Despite the vast amount of games the release each year, there are almost just as many that never see the light of day. That being said, some of the lucky ones can be picked back up (possibly years) later and finally be soldto the masses. Recently we learned that DICE’s previously unreleased 2D shooter Hardcore would be hitting PS4 and PS Vita, and today Two Tribes announced that they will finally be releasing puzzle game Swap This! on Nintendo Switch next month.

While Two Tribes called off making new games after RIVE in 2016, the development origins of Swap This! can be traced back seven years to 2011. Two Tribes wanted to make a puzzle game the really challenged players as they did not think many puzzle games did that around that time. Ultimately, the game never got a proper release even though it was mostly done, and sat in the “Two Tribes treasure chest” for years.

The Nintendo Switch’s touch screen support, arcade-game friendliness, and current surge in popularity all convinced Two Tribes to dig Swap This! back up and release it exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 2. The title will be really cheap too, only costing players $1.19 at launch. Swap This! will be joining Two Tribes titles Toki Tori, Toki Tori 2+, and RIVE on the hybrid console.

On the gameplay side of things, Swap This! has players matching colored ice cubes with each other in order to free the fish inside them. While things initially seem simple and easy as you can move the ice cubes wherever you want on the screen, the game’s will challenge players to think and plan accordingly as things get more difficult in order to get the highest score.

You can check out the first trailer for this previously unreleased puzzle game below. Swap This! will be available on November 2 for Nintendo Switch exclusively.
