Pokemon Go Eon Event Will Swap Latios, Latias Capture Locations

Android, iOS, News, Niantic Inc., Nintendo, Originals, Platforms, Pokémon Go

Remember hunting down Latios and Latias in Pokemon Sapphire and Pokemon Ruby as they bounced around the map like the skittish furry jet planes that they were? Well, now you’re going to get to experience that in Pokemon Go‘s latest event featuring the Eon Duo, except it’ll be worldwide.

That’s right: recently, Latios and Latias came to Pokemon Go with a very special event that involves them rotating their locations. Players will find that Latios will appear in North America, South America, and Africa while Latias appears in Europe and Asia.

Come Tuesday, however, they will be switching locations, with Latias appearing in North America, South America, and Africa and Latios appearing in Europe and Asia. The event itself will be running until June 5, 2018 at 20:00 UTC, so now is your last chance to capture either Latios or Latias in your current region before they switch off on Tuesday.

Latios and Latios can only be found as a Raid Battle at Gyms like most other Raid Event Pokemon, so you’ll have to team up with other trainers to defeat the Pokemon before you can attempt to capture them.

In other Pokemon Go related news, The next Pokemon Go Community Event is also coming up on May 19, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST, and it will be featuring Charmander. You’ll also be able to capture Zapdos by completing new Field Research quests:

On May 1 at 1:00 P.M. PDT, a brand-new set of Field Research tasks focusing on Flying and Electric-type Pokemon will become available, including skill-based tasks that will challenge your abilities as a Trainer.

If you’re able to earn enough stamps for your Research Breakthrough, you’ll have the opportunity to catch the Legendary Electric and Flying-type Pokemon originally discovered in the Kanto region – Zapdos!

Pokemon Go was originally released on July 6, 2016, and is available on iOS and Android devices.
