PlayStation VR Gets a Price Drop to $300 Starting Tomorrow

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today that the price of PlayStation VR is going to be sliced by a quarter starting tomorrow, March 29th.

The headset, which used to cost $399.99, or €399.99 if you’re in Europe, will now cost $299.99, or €299.99 if you live in the old continent. Canadians will also be able to take advantage of the price drop, with the new magic number being $379.99 CAD.

North America also gets a price slice for the bundle with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, which will be priced at $449.99.

There are 180 titles expected to launch by the end of the year, so Sony appears to be finally ready to push, considering that the marketing and shipments for PlayStation VR have been slightly wishy-washy until now.

We’ll see if the new price will give the console VR market the kickstart it needs to make virtual reality more accessible and closer to a mass market. As usual, the future will tell.
