Following the announcement of Sony’s financial results for fiscal year 2018, the electronics giant shared additional information on its earnings.

Since last quarter, Sony has decided to make the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers transparent in its earnings documentation, as a further testimony to the fact that the revenue provided by the service is becoming more and more relevant to the company and to investors.

The number of PlayStation Plus subscribers as of June 30th, 2018 was 33.9 million. This marks a small drop of 300,000 since the 34.2 million subscribers reported as of March 2018. This isn’t too surprising considering that the period between April and June is normally a bit slower than the January-March quarter which comes immediately after the Holidays.

On top of the PlayStation Plus data, we also get a breakdown between hardware, software, and network services revenue.

We learn that 40.6 million units of PS4 software have been shipped, with a digital download ratio of 43%. Software sales still take the lion’s share of the company’s revenue, followed by hardware, and network services.
