Dubbed the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Road Trip! this pop-up tour started in Los Angeles today. Joining the event was musical artist, acres, and self-proclaimed Pokémon fan Jordin Sparks (winner of American Idol season 6).

For the next two months these trucks, themed after Pikachu and Eevee will visit various cities across the United States, offering photo opportunities, special giveaways, and demos of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! These demos will include the Poké-Ball Plus accessory, a new controller made specifically for the game. “Pokémon games have always inspired a sense of adventure and community, and we’re excited to bring that to life with the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Road Trip!” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Whether someone is a longtime Pokémon fan or a budding Trainer, this new pair of games offers a vibrant region to explore, Trainers to battle and, of course, tons of Pokémon to catch.”

The tour will end with a midnight launch event at Nintendo NY on November 15th. A special visit will be made to Topeka, Kansas, home of the launch event for the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue when they first released in North America on September 12, 1998.
