Following its re-reveal last year during Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2019, the western iteration of Phantasy Star Online 2 finally has announced when its closed beta phase will begin.

Phantasy Star Online 2’s long-awaited closed beta will finally kick off next week on February 7. The beta phase is set to last for a little bit over 24-hours and will begin at 5pm PST on the 7th and will last until the following day, February 8, at 11:59pm PST. Pre-loading for the beta will be able to take place starting on February 3. This beta will also only be available on Xbox One.

As for what the closed beta will give players the chance to do, a variety of missions known as Urgent Quests will be available for play. These quests are time-specific and will only go live in Phantasy Star Online 2 at certain moments while the beta is live. Beta testers will also be able to earn a variety of different rewards for taking part in this trial or for completing certain Urgent Quests. Lastly, you’ll also be able to watch live concerts during the beta as well.

And since this is a closed beta after all, that means you’ll have to be given special access to participate. If you’re looking to hop in on Xbox One, you’ll need to make sure that you have installed the Xbox Insider Hub on either your console or Windows 10 operating system. This app will allow you to register to be apart of the Xbox Insider Program which will then give you access to the PSO2 beta. For more information on how to sign-up, you can check out the official Xbox website.

Phantasy Star Online 2 still doesn’t have a release date, but it is still set to launch at some point this spring. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the official launch date for PSO2 in the west after this beta takes place.
