Back in May, Paper Mario: The Origami King was randomly revealed by Nintendo, and today we’ve got another trailer, this time delving more into the specifics of what to expect from the game.

In the trailer, we see an example of the origami in action as we witness one of the characters transforming into Olly, the Origami king in this paper-crafted world. Players are tasked with the goal of reclaiming Princess Peach’s castle that has become wrapped by a bunch of giant streamers. Players have to follow these streamers that lead them through a 3D world while playing as a paper crafted version of Mario.

Player’s can expect to find themselves traveling the sea, going through sewers, forests, a dojo, and many more. Obstacles can be overcome by crafting the relevant solutions, and there are puzzles to resolve. There’s even a quiz show to jump onto called Shy Guys Finish Last, and also levels that take players to the skies to shoot enemies down.

It seems like the game has a range of new characters and enemy battles seem to unfold like Pokemon interactions where an enemy approaches and you’re throwing into a ring to battle them. Of course, the way to win these battles is an odd and puzzling way which you can see an example of in the above trailer. There are even some enemies that are office supplies, because that makes sense in a paper crafted world doesn’t it?

The world certainly seems vast, with many colorful characters and areas to explore, and Mario even has a cup of coffee at one point, so I’m already in love with that. Oh, and there’s fishing.

You can expect to pick up Paper Mario: The Origami King next month when it arrives exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on July 17.
