Overwatch League Champs to Receive Custom Belt From WWE’s Triple H

Blizzard Entertainment, Esports, Originals, Overwatch, PC, PS4, Xbox One

It’s been a busy year for professional Overwatch players as the Overwatch League’s Inaugural Season saw 12 teams battle it out to prove their worth as the world’s best competitive gaming outfit in front of millions of fans. It turns out that champions The London Spitfire’s sweeping 3-0 victory against The Philadelphia Fusion in the grand finals didn’t go unnoticed in the world of sports entertainment.

WWE Superstar Triple H has taken to Twitter to show his admiration for the esports team by posting an image of a custom-made WWE title belt. The piece looks strikingly similar to the one commonly used for WWE’s world heavyweight championships but with a few finely tailored alterations. While the iconic wrestling federation’s logo remains the centerpiece, The London Spitfire’s team crest is positioned both to the left and right of it. The professional wrestler’s tweet went on to congratulate the team on their performance and state that the belt would be sent to them soon.

This should act as a great source of motivation for The London Spitfire players as they gear up for the next Overwatch League which will see the number of teams competing increased from 12 to 20.

Overwatch is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
