The latest trailer from Outriders provides a glimpse at your journey on the planet of Enoch, where a mysterious signal is your last hope to find the remnants of humanity before its total annihilation.

Originally revealed during Square Enix’s first E3 appearance in 2019, Outriders is a brand new IP from the Polish team, People Can Fly. The studio is mostly known for its work on Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment. Outriders isn’t going to be a fully distinct title from their previous works, but sure it has lots of original ideas.

As a co-op-focused third-person shooter, Outriders invites you to an uneven battle against some mutated creatures that will stand in your way to the source of the signal. The new trailer actually provides a better look at the story, its characters, and some of the villans and boss fights that you have to defeat in your journey.

Featuring three different character classes, Outriders allows you to create your own protagonist at the beginning of the game and choose your way of combat and special abilities based on the class you pick. Aside from close engagements, the game gives you the chance to take down the enemies quietly if you choose to be a Trickster. The game supports up to 3-player drop-in/drop-out co-op gameplay in both main and side missions. That said, you will be able to play it alone from scratch if you want.

To be honest, titles with a special focus on co-operative gameplay usually don’t feature a compelling story, but I think Outriders is capable of keeping a balance between an interesting story and enjoyable gameplay. The game is currently under development for nearly five years and it’s powered by Unreal Engine 4.

Outriders is set to be launched in Holiday 2020 for PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also be coming to Google Stadia at some point in 2021.
