Rumors continue to swirl around what’s next for Grand Theft Auto. After all, Rockstar Games is few years out from the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and it’s been almost eight years since the last major GTA release. One rumor that’s popped up in a few spots is a potential remake of some of the older Grand Theft Auto games. While there’s little concrete about that potential project, one fan did provide us with an excellent look at what those games might look like. Hossein Diba does a ton of character work and recently they’ve been dropping updated looks at classic GTA characters. Check out their video of all the protagonists below.

All four models look absolutely stellar. Though I have to say seeing Claude and his gigantic forehead rendering in such detail is a bit offputting. It’s not bad, just really weird. Of the four, I think I like Niko Bellic’s the best. The other three don’t quite perfectly mesh up with what I imagine them all looking like in my brain. They’re still great, of course, but I wouldn’t call them perfect. Niko, on the other hand, is exactly what I imagined.

I suppose that’s to be expected though given it’s the most recent of the four games. It’s a much easier translation from PS3 and Xbox 360 than it is from PS2. Hossein didn’t stop there though. Recently, they’ve also been showing off some work on some of the characters you see in the GTA loading screens. Below you can see one of them from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, but make sure to check out their Twitter page to see everything.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
