Okami HD Remaster for PS4, Xbox One and PC Leaked via Famitsu

Okami, Originals, PC, Platforms, PS4, Rumors, Xbox One

Copies of the Japanese magazine Famitsu are leaking as usual, and they include an interesting reveal in the form of an HD Remaster of the PS2 classic Okami.

The remaster will release in Japan on December 21st for PS4 and Xbox One, and on PC on December 13th. It will cost 2,990 yen plus taxes, or 4,990 yen for the limited edition. It will support 4K on PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

At the moment there are no specific information on further improvements made to the original game, but the loading minigames that were included only in the PS2 version will also make a comeback.

Okami was originally released in 2006 for PS2, and then ported to Wii in 2008 and PS3 in 2012.

The game, heavily inspired by Japanese legends and folklore, tells the story of the goddess Amaterasu, who travels the land to dispel a curse cast by the eight-headed demon Orochi, accompanied by the artist Issun. It’s well known for its absolutely charming art style and for the unique gameplay based on the celestial brush mechanic.

While this is a leak, Famitsu copies released ahead of time are normally very reliable, so we can pretty much consider it nearly-official, pending an announcement that is likely to come from Capcom soon, or on Famitsu itself when it releases on Thursday (which will still be Wednesday in the west).
