Through the Woods is a horror game from developer Antagonist, and they are looking to make Xbox One and PS4 players pee their pants. The title is a Norse adventure with horror elements that had a prior release beforehand on the PC for Halloween 2016.
You play as a woman who is searching for her kidnapped child in a deep forest. Moonlight will be a source of light in Through the Woods, as well as your flashlight. Changes come to the forest at night, such as an invasion of mythical critters. Survive your way through the dark forest and find your son before it is too late.
Not only are there mysterious creatures roaming about, but the mother has to also battle against her personal demons, which in turn shows her emotional connection with the child she is desperately trying to find. The game plays in the third person on the western shores of Norway, filling the list of terrifying characters from Norwegian folk tales as well as the Norse mythology.
Antagonist’s stated goal for their psychological horror game was to recreate a dark forest as seen through the eyes of a lone child. The game was first released on PC in October 2016, just in time for Halloween thrills. But gamers will not have to wait until Halloween to play this scary-as-hell experience. Instead, Xbox One players can expect the game to release on May 2, 2018, while PS4 players will get their version on May 8, 2018.
