Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja just published the opening sequence for Nioh 2, a few hours before the game’s launch. Japanese games revealing their opening sequences and even the first hours of gameplay before launch is nothing unusual, and Nioh 2 is no exception.

The opening sequence of Nioh 2 is pretty nice overall and showcases the game’s main addition compared to its predecessor: the main character’s yokai transformation and powers. The other main difference with the original Nioh is how you can create your own character. You can check out the opening sequence further below.

Nioh 2 is also one of the few highly anticipated and mainstream games in this early part of 2020 which stayed on course and didn’t get delayed. The game has gone gold for a few weeks now. Koei Tecmo’s flux of new info on the game was pretty consistent ahead of release as well. You can see that for yourself with some gameplay, screenshots, and the latest trailer. A final demo was also available from February 28 to March 1. If you’ve played this demo, don’t forget to transfer the character you’ve made there to the full game.

Nioh 2 will launch exclusively on PlayStation 4 on March 13. As a side note, the game is launching one day earlier, on March 12, in Japan.
