Nilo Studios Targeting Release Parity for Episode 2 of Asemblance Series

In many respects, Nilo Studios’ Asemblance is still an unknown treasure for ARG and puzzle-game enthusiasts. The game, which merges an air of mystery and real-world collaborative puzzle solving, never made big waves across the gaming population when it released in 2016 for PC and PS4, and it flew under most people’s radar when it was stealth-released on Xbox One earlier this week. However, Xbox One owners shouldn’t expect a two-year delay for the upcoming Episode 2.

Speaking to DualShockers, developer Nilo Studios’ Creative Director Niles Sankey spoke with us about release date parity. When asked if he is aiming for Xbox One release date parity on the second episode in the “Niloverse” series, he replied “yes” for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Though the untitled Episode 2 has no official launch date, Nilo Studios has been actively searching for team members to build the experience.

But what is Asemblance? If you missed DualShockers’ original review, the game is an ARG that takes a deliberate cold open approach, making players test both the controls and environments to find the answers. Clues eventually lead you out-of-game, tracking down images on social media platforms and (often) collaborating with other players. And though the type of game may not be for everyone, it is a unique experience for most gaming marketplaces.

As mentioned above, Asemblance is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While we don’t know the title for Episode 2, it should be releasing similarly across all three platforms.
