Ni No Kuni II Beats Valkyria Chronicles 4 to the Top of PS4 Digital Sales in Japan

News, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Originals, PS4, Valkyria Chronicles 4

Sony Interactive Entertainment released the sales chart for PS4 games on the Japanese PlayStation Store between March 19th and March 25th.

You can check out the full top-twenty below. Unfortunately we don’t get numbers, but we can still see what performed better, and this week we get the big JRPG duel between Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom and Valkyria Chronicles 4.

  1. Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
  2. Valkyria Chronicles 4
  3. Undertale
  4. Battlefield 1 Revolution
  5. Monster Hunter World
  6. Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster
  7. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition
  8. Tales of Berseria
  9. Battleborn
  10. Final Fantasy IX
  11. Minecraft
  12. The Evil Within
  13. Attack on Titan 2
  14. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
  15. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX
  16. Final Fantasy VII
  17. Rainbow Six Siege: Advanced Edition
  18. Star Ocean 3 ‘Til the End of Time – Director’s Cut
  19. Simple Series G4U Vol.1 The Mahjong
  20. How to Survive – Zombie Island 2

As you can see from the chart, Ni No Kuni II managed to beat Valkyria Chronicles 4 to the top. This is an upset of what happened at retail, where it was the latest chapter of Valkyria Chronicles that came up on top, even if it was still beaten by Kirby Star Allies.

Another interesting element is that Attack on Titan 2 by Koei Tecmo literally collapsed to the second half of the chart after managing to get first place last week.

This kind of radical drop is actually rather rare in the digital marketplace. It’s easier for it to happen at retail due to low shipments on the second week, but there are no stock limits digitally, so the reason for such fall in performance remains mysterious.

Monster Hunter World slides in fifth place after its massive success during the first month and a half, overtaken by two titles that were pushed by discounts.
