Bandai Namco has released some new HD screenshots of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition showing off the game’s battle system. You can check out the new images for yourself down below.

Tales of Vesperia’s battle system is more akin to what we got in Tales games like Tales of Xillia, Tales of Graces, and many titles from the series that released in the PS2 and PS3 generations. The battle system has since been reworked in the more modern Tales of games like Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria. It’s definitely a solid foundation and I’m excited to get my hands on it again in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is a remaster of the 2008 title, which was only available on the Xbox 360 in the west for some time. It’s the 10th game in the series. The Definitive Edition will include all of the content that came with the Japan-exclusive PS3 version. New characters, storylines, music, and minigames will all be available to fans overseas for the first time.

In case you missed any other Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition news, Bandai Namco recently released a Japanese trailer showing off new scenes from the game’s storyline. On that note, Troy Baker, who voiced lead character Yuri, will not be recording any additional dialog for the new cutscenes. For collectors out there, Bandai Namco is also releasing a Premium and Anniversary Edition of the game.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will be launching worldwide for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 11, 2019.
