Each year, EA will predict the outcome of each Super Bowl via a simulation in its newest Madden NFL title from EA Tiburon. This year for Super Bowl LII, Madden NFL 18 was used to determine the outcome of the big game, with the teams in question being the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.

As the title of this article suggests, the New England Patriots came out on top this year. The final score for EA was 24-20, with Tom Brady, the cover athlete of Madden NFL 18, taking home the MVP Honors. While the Eagles did score first in the simulation and fought hard throughout the whole game, the New England Patriots took the lead and kept in the fourth quarter after Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to Danny Amendola.

EA’s Madden NFL predictions have actually had a decent track record of being correct in the past, especially when it comes to the Patriots. In 2015, they corrected predicted the Patriots’ late-game comeback against the Seattle Seahawks and final score in Super Bowl XLIX. Last year, they also correctly predicted that the New England Patriots would win yet again, this time against the Atlanta Falcons.

You can check out a video showcasing highlights from the simulated game below. Madden NFL 18 is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One.
