Today, during the Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 at the Big Sight venue in Tokyo, Square Enix announced the new expansion of its popular MMORPG Dragon Quest X.
The expansion is titled “Dragon Quest X 5000-Nen no Tabiji Harukanaru Furusato e Online,” which translates as “The 500-year Voyage to a Far-away Hometown.”
We also get a release date for the Japanese market, on November 16th, costing 3,800 yen plus taxes.
As usual with Dragon Quest X expansion reveals, we get a spectacular CGI cinematic trailer, that you can watch below.
If you want to see more, you can also enjoy recent videos from the PS4 and Switch betas of the game, on top of a trailer also representing the PS4 and Switch versions.
The PS4 version of Dragon Quest X will release on August 17th. The Switch version will launch later, on September 21st. Both versions will include the original game and the first two expansions (the one revealed here is the third=.
If you’re wondering about the possibility of a western release, that’s starting to look less and less likely as time passees, unless a super-successful launch of Dragon Quest XI next year creates a miracle, but if I was a betting man, I wouldn’t put my money on that happening. Please prove me wrong, Square Enix.
