NetherRealm Cancels Mortal Kombat 11 Stream Due Sub Zero Temperatures, Reschedules for Next Week

If you live in the Midwestern portion of the United States, you’re likely familiar with this extreme cold front that will be hitting the region over the coming days. Temperatures are planned to drop to their lowest points in decades in some regions with locations like Chicago and Minnesota reaching lows in the range of 50 below zero. As a Midwesterner myself, I can report that it is currently very, very cold.

As a result of these asinine temperatures, NetherRealm Studios, which is located in Chicago, Illinois, has canceled the Mortal Kombat 11 live stream that was originally supposed to take place today. First announced during the official Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event earlier this month, it was said that our next look at the game would be on January 30. Because of the temperatures though, it seems like NetherRealm has likely just closed the entire office to look out for its employees’ safety.

Luckily, the Kombat Kast has already been rescheduled and will now take place next Tuesday, February 5 at 4:00 EST. That same day we’re also going to see more of MK11 on Microsoft’s latest edition of Inside Xbox, so there should be a whole lot of new information for the game dropping next week.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release later this spring on April 23 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. If you’re in the UK though, it seems like the Switch version of the game may have just been pushed back to May, unfortunately.
