During GDC, Funcom revealed that its strategy game Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden would be getting an expansion on June 25 alongside a Nintendo Switch port and a physical release on all consoles. Today, the developers finally revealed more about the expansion, which is titled Seed of Evil. While it is great to finally hear more about this expansion, Funcom also confirmed that Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden’s physical release, Seed of Evil, and Nintendo Switch port have all been pushed back.

While the original release date for all three things was June 25, they will all now arrive on July 30. No specific reason was given for this delay, but The Bearded Ladies Consulting and Funcom likely just need more time to polish everything before the expansion, Switch port, and physical release before they hit store shelves. While details on the delay were light, that was not the case for the Seeds of Evil expansion.

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden – Seed of Evil has players investigating mysterious roots that have rooted (how clever of me) themselves through the game’s world and have the ability to control the minds of both enemies and those allied with the player. Of course, this expansion adds new areas, types of enemies, new mutation upgrades, and a new playable character. This new ally is Big Khan the Moose and he is good at clearing out large groups of enemies thanks to his area-of-effect attacks Ground Pound and Flame Puke as well as his higher critical hit ratio.

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is currently available digitally on PC, PS4, and Xbox One but will release physically, come to Nintendo Switch, and receive the Seed of Evil expansion on July 30, 2019. The physical deluxe edition can be pre-ordered on Amazon right now.
