While we sit back and wait for the Mortal Kombat movie to be released in April, let’s take a look at some Sub-Zero cosplay to bide the time. As any cosplayer will know, it takes time and effort to make any outfit look halfway decent; not to mention how expensive the entire endeavor costs. When it comes to Mortal Kombats Sub-Zero, known also as Kuai Liang, there are not many lengths fans won’t go to to perfect the ultimate fighter’s look.

Reddit user CyperianWorkshop has posted their Sub-Zero cosplaying process for the world to see and they are damn proud of it – as they should be. Taking a look at how they initially started in 2014, Cyperian has certainly come a hell of a long way. As you can see from the images, this Sub-Zero cosplay mimics the fighter’s blue-garbed ninja-like uniform.

Of course, no Sub-Zero cosplay would be complete without weapons. Cyperian has opted to go with the newer Ice Battle Axe instead of the Kori Blade. For context: the Kori Blade is made by Sub-Zero’s freezing water vapor, manipulating it so that it forms the shape of the sword, hence its name; “Kori” derives from koori, which is Japanese for ice.

What’s so heartwarming about this particular cosplay is that Cyperian never gave up on their dream to design and wear the ultimate Sub-Zero outfit, even if it took seven years. Over on Facebook Cyperian said “When you start something, just do what you do and don’t care if someone said to you it looks bad. Everyone starts somewhere just don’t give up and do what you want more.” There’s a message in there for everyone.

You can follow and keep up to date with CyperianWorkshop over on Facebook and Twitter where they create and display everything from weapons to many amazing cosplaying characters.

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can check out DualShockers’ review of the game here.
