Mortal Kombat 11 Brings Jade Back to the Roster

During today’s latest edition of the Kombat Kast, the ongoing live stream series dedicated to Mortal Kombat 11, the team at NetherRealm Studios revealed another character who will be joining the game’s roster.

Today’s addition to MK11 is that of Jade, one of the classic female ninjas from the series. Jade returns to Mortal Kombat 11 for the first time since MK9. She also appears donning her green garb and bow staff. The version of Jade that we’re seeing though is that of her revenant form since she was killed by Sindel in MK9. That said, her original gear will likely still be available as an alternate uniform just like has been the case with almost every other character in MK11.

As for how Jade plays, NetherRealm has described her as a heavy zoning fighter. Jade can use her glaives to keep enemies at a distance but can also close distances extremely quickly with her bow staff strikes and forward kick. As for her fatality, we’ve only seen one in particular, but it looks grueling. Jade stabs enemies in the face with her staff before then slicing them in half, leaving the upper portion of their bodies hanging on her staff. Overall, she looks like a ton of fun to use and I’m really glad she has returned.

What’s perhaps most interesting of all of Jade’s reveal is that it adds further credit to last weeks potential roster leak that came out via Steam. Jade was one of the many characters that appeared in the leak, which potentially proves that the leak as a whole could be true. Because of this, it seems like other characters like Cassie Cage, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and others will be heading to Mortal Kombat 11 as well. Obviously, none of this is confirmed just yet so don’t get too excited, but it is an interesting thing to mention.
