Indie developer Digital Sun Games and publisher 11bit Studios announced today that their action-RPG Moonlighter is coming to the Nintendo Switch in addition to the already announced PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of the game. This announcement was made through a new trailer for the game on 11bit Studios’ YouTube channel, and according to Digital Sun Games’ Twitter, this port is being developed due to overwhelming demand by the game’s fans.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Moonlighter is a game that successfully appeared on both Square Enix Collective and KickStarter, and blends your typical The Legend of Zelda inspired action-RPG gameplay with rogue-lite elements and a shopkeeping system. Players start with 100 gold coins, but must venture into randomly generated dungeons in order to scratch their adventuring itch and find loot to then sell in their shop.

The game was picked up by 11bit Studios back in February, and has since made appearances at events like E3 and Poznan Game Arena. DualShockers’ own Azario Lopez got some hands on time with Moonlighter at E3 this year, and his impressions were quite postive. I also had a lot of fun with the portion of the game I played earlier this month at Poznan Game Arena.

You can check out the Nintendo Switch announcement trailer below. Moonlighter is currently set to release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in Early 2018.
