Monster Hunter fans have eagerly been awaiting the release of Monster Hunter: World, the first true next-gen game in the series, ever since it was announced during Sony’s E3 2017 Press Conference. Today, the game has finally hit store shelves, both physically and digitally, so it’s finally time to go hunting. Still, that hasn’t stopped Capcom from releasing a launch trailer to celebrate the game’s release.
The trailer gives a tiny glimpse of the game’s story, alongside a bit of gameplay and showcasing a ton of different monster for players to hunt and fight. This launch trailer also comes with definitive confirmation that Capcom will continue to support the Monster Hunter: World post-launch with a variety of free content.
This includes Horizon: Zero Dawn themed event quests, which will run in the game from today until February 8, allowing players to create themed equipment to make their character look like Aloy and their Palico companions look like machines from that game. Speaking of different characters, Monster Hunter: World contains a bevy of customization options, and you see what DualShockers’ Giuseppe Nelva has to say about them.
If you aren’t too busy tracking down your next monster, you can check out the launch trailer below. Monster Hunter: World is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release coming later this year. If you want to see DualShockers’ thoughts on the game, you can check out our review.
