We are just over a month away from the release of MLB The Show 18, so many new things are being revealed about it. Just this last week, the new batting stance creator and three-inning games were unveiled. Today, the game’s developers released a new video detailing the standard yearly improvements to both the commentary and presentation in MLB The Show 18.

First off, the video reveals that former a new commentator will be added – Mark DeRosa, former baseball player and current MLB Network Analyst. This year, all of the game’s announcers were working and recording together in the same studio; hopefully, the commentary will flow and sound a bit better in MLB The Show 18, as that is definitely one area the games have suffered in the past.

Replays have also been revamped in MLB The Show 18, adding full speed replays and 3D ball trails. The developers also tried to improve the in-game atmosphere within the stadium by implementing twice as many crowd animations. The number of attendees will also now change due to factors like weather, day of the week, matchup, and score. The lack of attention put into crowds has always been one of my pet peeves with sports games, so I’m happy to see that Sony San Diego is trying to improve it in MLB The Show 18.

You can check out the new video below. MLB The Show 18 is poised to launch exclusively for PS4 on March 28.
