Yesterday Microsoft announced that Xbox exclusive first party games will be added at launch to the lineup of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Today Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb mentioned that those games would be a permanent part of game pass moving forward.

In order to get more color on this, we contacted Microsoft asking whether this simply meant that all Xbox exclusives by Microsoft will be part of the service from now on, or that they will be part of the service permanently, and won’t be rotated out.

A Microsoft spokesperson responded with the following official statement:

“This is not just a limited window, we are adding these new Microsoft Studios titles to the service with the intention of them being a regular part of the value for being an Xbox Game Pass subscriber going forward.”

Incidentally, in case you missed it, the first three new Microsoft games to be added to the service will be Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, and State of Decay 2. We also learned that those that are part of the Play Anywhere program will be playable on Windows 10 as well.

If you want to see more, you can also enjoy a new trailer, showcasing the three games mentioned above in action.
