Merge Games assists developers in releasing physical retail versions of their game on a variety of different platforms. Recently, they partnered with Angry Mob Games for Brawlout on Nintendo Switch and Red Hook Studios for Darkest Dungeon: Ancestral Edition on PS4 and Switch. Today, they announced that they have partnered with Polish developer and publisher 11bit Studios to release physical versions of upcoming titles Frostpunk and Moonlighter on PC and PS4, respectively.

This announcement also gives us a better idea of the release window for both titles. 11bit Studios has been teasing the release date of Frostpunk recently, but this announcement confirmed that the game will release sometime this month, March. This physical PC release also doesn’t seem to include anything extra. Luke Keighran, Managing Director at Merge Games, commented on releasing Frostpunk physically:

Frostpunk is going to be a very special title on PC, one that gamers will be clamouring to have in their collections. We are excited to have partnered with 11 bit studios, working with them is a delight.”

Moonlighter will also be getting the same the same retail treatment, though only the PS4 version will be seeing a physical release. This announcement did reveal that Moonlighter (at least the PS4 version) is currently poised to release sometime in May. Piotr Bajraszewski, Business Development Manager at 11bit Studios, discussed working with Merge Games on the retail releases of both Frostpunk and Moonlighter:

“Fans are crying out for physical editions of these games. Merge Games was the ideal partner to help us get this done! We’re super excited for people to have the option to buy them a retail box… we’re looking forward to including them in our personal collections too!”

You can check out the box art for both titles below. Frostpunk is currently set to release on PC sometime in March, while Moonlighter will hit at least PS4 in May, even though the game is also slated for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
