Get ready to stomp some Koopas with your friends all over the globe– Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Mario Bros. will include online cooperative play.

Mario Bros. is just one of the Nintendo Entertainment System titles that’s going to be included with the Nintendo Switch’s online service. Nintendo has already announced twenty titles that will launch with the service, including classics like Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros. 3, and The Legend of Zelda. Once subscribed to the online service, players will have the opportunity to play whichever classic games Nintendo curates for no additional cost.

Nintendo has vowed to include “online play” to every game coming to the Switch’s online service and online voice chat (through the Switch’s dedicated smartphone app) when applicable. While it’s unclear how these online features will be implemented into single-player games (such as The Legend of Zelda), today’s announcement shows that Nintendo is serious about offering actual cooperative and competitive play online, rather than just giving every game its own leaderboard.

While the exact details and launch date of the Switch’s online infrastructure remain unknown, Nintendo has announced that it will unveil the new subscription later this month. Of course, if you’re already sold on the service, you can pre-purchase a subscription right now.
