2K Games announced that the Mafia Trilogy would be launching this year, with the first two games being remastered editions and then teased some screenshots. Since those screenshots, Australian PS Store listings appeared yesterday for Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 Definitive Editions. And it seems players have been able to jump right into the game.

As you can see below, from YouTuber FA GAMEZ, a walkthrough has already begun of Mafia 2: Definitive Edition which includes updated graphics which can be seen shown in the video. There are clearly some graphical improvements, especially in the lighting department. The footage shown is running on a PS4 Pro.

It does seem as if the graphical updates are literally just updated graphics rather than overhauled, and commenters have been quick to show their surprise at how the game still looks fairly dated. However, it seems as people are just expecting all remasters to now follow the total overhauls that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the Resident Evil remakes came with.

If you’re a sucker for comparisons, FA GAMEZ has a video that shows the two games and how different they look. You can check out that video that’s also embedded below.

We’re supposed to be hearing from 2K games at some point today with some more details about the Mafia Trilogy. The information should be revealed today at 9:00am PST/12:00pm EST.
