While it feels like the Super Bowl was just yesterday, football season won’t be too far off once again, and it feels closer than ever before with the latest reveals for Madden NFL 20.

EA Sports has announced that Madden NFL 20 will officially be arriving on August 2, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC through EA Origin. Alongside the reveal of the game’s launch window (which is about a month or so before football season officially kicks off), EA also announced that the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes will be the cover athlete for this year’s installment of the football gaming franchise.

Mahomes notably had a record-breaking season for a starter, as he became the first quarterback in the NFL’s history to throw over 5,000 yards in one season during both college and in the NFL, and was the third quarterback to throw at least 50 touchdown passes during the course of a single season.

EA also detailed a few of the new features that fans of the series can expect from Madden NFL 20, which will include a new career campaign called “Face of the Franchise: QB1.” This mode will allow players to create their own starting college quarterback that will play through the College National Championship playoffs and work their way up through a career in the NFL, while providing players with unique playable scenarios and “dynamic challenges” that will make each player’s campaign feel unique and distinct.

Madden NFL 20 will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 2, 2019. For a closer look, you can check out the official reveal trailer for this year’s installment of Madden below:
