While the last few days have been dominated by news from the top developers and console makers, some of the smaller studios have been making E3 announcements of their own. This included, surprisingly, physical copy distributor Limited Run Games as they released two game reels of their upcoming library (something they hinted at a few weeks back). The first trailer included already announced games while the second contained all new, unannounced titles just waiting for a disc and case. All and all 37 names were shown off to be coming to the PS4, Vita, or both.

The more interesting trailer was the one for the brand new titles. A whopping 17 new games were unveiled and a lot of them have me excited. Japanese indies are getting love (Kero Blaster, Croixleur Sigma) whereas non-Japan based visual novels are getting attention as well (2064: Read Only Memories, Va-11 Hall-A). There’s even an FMV game represented (The Bunker) which is definitely unexpected.

The full list includes:

  • Croixleur Sigma (PS4, Vita)
  • Layers of Fear (PS4)
  • Bard’s Gold (PS4, Vita)
  • Ghost Blade HD (PS4)
  • The Bunker (PS4)
  • Factotum 90 (PS4, Vita)
  • Mercenary Kings (PS4, Vita)
  • Claire: Extended Cut (PS4, Vita)
  • Jotun (PS4)

  • 2064: Read Only Memories (PS4, Vita)
  • Volume (PS4)
  • Momodora (PS4)
  • Va-11 Hall-A (Vita)
  • Rive (PS4)

For the compilation video of Limited Run’s known project, there were 20 titles in total. The range is quite impressive as it contains examples from different genres, popularity, countries, and publishing methods. One title even received a release date-Furi: Definitive Edition is coming out for the PS4 on June 23rd for $29.99 USD.

Some of the bigger names are either popular indies (Oceanhorn) or games with a long history (Night Trap 25th Anniversary). There are action platformers (Salt and Sanctuary, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap), RPGs (Ys Origin) and even visual novels (Sharin no Kuni). Some titles come from one person teams (Home) while some are from successful crowdfunding campaigns (Plague Road, Sundered). There really is a game for everyone here.

This selection is made up of:

  • Furi: Definitive Edition (PS4)
  • Oceanhorn (PS4, Vita)
  • DARIUSBURST CS (Vita)
  • Drive! Drive! Drive! (PS4)
  • The Bit.TRIP (PS4, Vita)
  • Night Trap 25th Anniversary (PS4)
  • Salt and Sanctuary (PS4, Vita)
  • YIIK (PS4, Vita)
  • Sundered (PS4)
  • Home (PS4, Vita)

  • Nuclear Throne (PS4, Vita)
  • Fallen Legion (PS4, Vita)
  • Tharsis (PS4)
  • Plague Road (PS4, Vita)
  • Battle Princess Madelyn (PS4, Vita)
  • Sharin no Kuni (Vita)
  • Rabi-Ribi (PS4, Vita)
  • Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap (PS4)
  • Ys Origin (PS4, Vita)

As always you can check out Limited Run’s Twitter for all the latest news on release dates, special collector’s editions, and other physical copy related goodness. I’m just curious to see how long it takes them to get out all these titles. It feels like they’ve got enough here to last until next E3. Maybe then they’ll do another announcement and the circle will continue.
