The Canada-based independent games studio Bishop Games announced its upcoming 2D platformer, Light Fall, will be jumping onto the popular portable home console, Nintendo Switch, when the game launches next year. An announcement trailer was revealed showing off the game’s unique gameplay.
Light Fall is full of platform-based challenges that are accomplished with the use of the Shadow Core, a box that appears under your character’s feet at the press of a button. As you wander the dark regions of Numbra with your companion and narrator Stryx the Night Owl, you will attempt to save the inhabitants and uncover the land’s mysterious past.
The vast world of Light Fall several regions such as the Lunar Plain, the Marshlands of Sorrows, the Vipera’s Forest, and the Unknown Depths with their own shortcuts, alternative paths, hidden collectibles, and easter eggs.
Those who are looking for something more competitive gameplay out of the new platformer, Speedrun Game Mode will allow you to challenge other players for the fastest playthrough. The quickest times will be posted on the game’s online leaderboard.
Light Fall is set to release in March 2018 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. Bishop Games’ debut title was originally announced last month alongside a teaser trailer.
