During today’s Nindie Showcase, developer Bishop Games announced that they would be bringing its 2D platformer Light Fall to Nintendo Switch later this Spring.

For those of you who don’t know, Light Fall follows a boy exploring the forgotten world of Numbra in order to learn more about it and protect his people. Light Fall stands out from other platformers due to its use of the Shadowcore, a box that players can spawn as an extra platform. I enjoyed what I played of the game last year at E3, so I glad to see the game make its way to the indie haven that is the Nintendo Switch.

While Light Fall is still without a concrete release date, we did learn about a new Speedrun mode during today’s Nintendo Direct. In this mode, players can compete with both their friends and people around the world to complete levels as fast as possible. Speedrunning fast-paced platformers like Light Fall is quite common, so it’s nice to see that Bishop Games is acknowledging this with its own mode.
