Back in 2014, developer Stage 2 Studios released its action-adventure title Lifeless Planet, introducing players to a story about one man’s journey to find life on Mars. The developer has now revealed that it has brought the spiritual successor of this title, Lifeless Moon, to Kickstarter.

In Lifeless Moon, players will inhabit the minds and bodies of two Apollo-era astronauts as they make their way to the Moon. However, they discover that once they arrive, the place is reminiscent of a town back on Earth. But that’s only how their mysterious expedition begins…

Much like Lifeless Planet, players can expect to find light platforming in Lifeless Moon, but also a stronger focus on the game’s puzzle elements. Most importantly, the team wanted to ensure that the core of the gameplay was one of exploration and discovery, teasing that there are potentially “other” locations to be found besides the mysterious Moon town.

In addition to all of this, the game will also have the option of VR support, making some of the first-person puzzles a little more interesting through motion controller interaction.

Lifeless Moon‘s initial Kickstarter goal is $17,000, of which it has raised $3,326. It is aiming to be funded by October 4. It is expected to release for Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux with the possibility of other platforms yet to be announced.
