After nearly a year since its reveal at E3 2019, the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga key art has finally been revealed in celebration of Star Wars Day. You can check it out for yourself at the bottom of the article.

As you can see from the key art, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will allow you to play through all nine of the main Star Wars films. Just about every main Jedi, Sith, smuggler, and droid is present in one of their presumably many forms as there are typically multiple versions of characters in the Lego games.

In fact, in an interview on StarWars.com with TT Games’ head of production and strategic director Jonathan Smith and Lucasfilm Games’ managing producer Craig Derrick, they discussed the plethora of playable characters in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

“There are nearly 500 characters in this game, with many of them playable. When choosing characters for a game this large, we just looked at every film in the saga and tried to say ‘yes’ as much as possible,” said Derrick. “That said, it often comes down to storytelling and the specific role of the character in the quests and game progression.”

To give you an idea of some of the offbeat characters that will be playable, Smith and Derrick said Admiral Ackbar, Zorii Bliss, and Yaddle will be playable.

Smith and Derrick also talked about the importance of allowing players to start Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga at the beginning of any of the three trilogies. So, if you want to skip the prequels and start with the original trilogy, you can.

“Freedom of choice is a really important principle for us,” said Smith. “We love stories and storytelling; but we also feel, both as gamers ourselves and with particular concern for young players driven to experimentation and change, that stories exist to be played with, however the player wants.”

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to launch later this year for Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC.
