While those of us in North America will have to wait until January 19 to play Kirby: Battle Royale on 3DS, the game launched today in Europe. As is usually the case with notable titles such as this, a launch trailer that details many of the different modes and abilities within the game was also released.
Unfortunately, the 3DS is region locked, so people in North America will not be able to play European copies of the game early unless they have a European 3DS system. A demo for the title is also available on the European Nintendo eShop, which allows players to carry their save data from it into the full game and unlock Meta Knight early.
This launch trailer gives us a glimpse at the Kirby: Battle Royale’s story mode, where the titular character takes on King Dedede’s Cake Royale. It also shows the ten different kinds of battles Kirby can find himself in: Battle Arena, Apple Scramble, Coin Clash, Attack Riders, Crazy Theater, Rocket Rumble, Robo Bonkers, Slam Hockey, Ore Express, and Flagball. The trailer then ends by highlighting all thirteen different abilities Kirby can use in-game, amiibo support, and online play.
You can check out the European launch trailer below. Kirby: Battle Royale is now available on 3DS in Europe, but won’t release in North America until January 19, 2018.
