One of the more surprising elements of the forthcoming Kingdom Hearts III is a series of minigames, similar to the LCD Game & Watch devices of old. There’s a certain retro charm to these, and those enticed by these games will be able to try them out in mobile game Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross].
The included “Classic Kingdom” minigames are titled Giantland, The Musical Farmer, The Karnival Kid, The Barnyard Battle, and Fishin’ Frenzy. If players in Union χ[Cross] can reach certain high scores in these games, they can win a code for the Starlight Keyblade for use in Kingdom Hearts III.
These games come in the iOS and Android game’s 3.0.0 update, which also comes with a new Community section. Regardless of which faction any player is in, they will be able to chat and communicate with other players of the game in this section.
As Kingdom Hearts III is barreling towards its January 29, 2019 release date, Square Enix is showing off the game at multiple events, including TGS 2018, with a recent showcase at PAX West. Pre-order the long-awaited Xbox One and PS4 game on Amazon at this link.
