Originally, Killer Queen Black was set to launch on Xbox Game Pass on January 5. However, the team at Liquid Bit has decided to push that release back as they work to polish up the game just a bit more before release. The game is still slated for a first-quarter release, so fans won’t be waiting too long to hop in. That said, the announcement is a bit surprising considering the game was set to launch tomorrow. Check out Liquid Bit’s full announcement below.

If you haven’t seen Killer Queen Black in action, it’s quite the treat. The wild platform strategy game has up to eight players compete on teams of four to be the best beehive. The game was inspired by the original arcade game Killer Queen and does a great job of translating the experience to your house.

The game is already available on Nintendo Switch and PC. So, you can absolutely hop in now if you want. Importantly, each version supports cross-platform play. That means you’ll be able to jump in with your friends who are already playing once the Game Pass version goes live.

As surprising as it is for this announcement to hit right before the game’s launch, it’s not that shocking to see it delayed. After all, devs big and small have had to push back games due to COVID-19 complications. They don’t come out and say that’s the reason, but it certainly can’t help development. Either way, I’m glad to see a team take the time they need to realize their vision.
