If you’re planning to buy the Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch bundle in Japan, the odds are not in your favor. Not only the console itself is hard to find at acceptable prices, but the expected popularity of the game is probably going to spark additional demand. A lot of it.
Local retailer chain Joshin found a way to at least make things a bit less chaotic: a raffle. It’s worth stressing the fact that they’re not raffling the bundle itself, but just the right to purchase it.
Customers interested in buying it have to submit an application on the retailer’s site before Friday, October 20th, and if the luck of the draw favors them, they’ll be able to comfortably buy the bundle for its standard 41,018 yen price (tax included) when it launches on October 27th.
If this process seems convoluted to you, just think about standing in line for a couple of hours, only to get to the cashier and find out that the console you want is sold out.
